How are you doing?

Now that we are halfway through the year, I think we need to pause for the cause and hit the reset button. I want to make sure you’re keeping yourself on the to-do- list of your life and have not fallen back into old habits. So, I’m going to give you some Mindset Upgrades tips that will help you put your mind in the right place. I want to make sure you are continuing on your road to success. Mindset is everything! and you need to mind your mind.

What are your goals?

Are you still on track According to your plan? 

It’s important for you to pursue your short and long-term goals at the same time.

No matter if you work with or for someone else you have to keep your personal goals in mind. Are you doing anything on the side to aid in earning extra money to fund your “BIG” dream? Don’t get stuck making money for someone else and forget about you. Trust me … I get it.

I know what that feels like, just know you are not alone. Make sure you have time blocked during the week whether its a few minutes every day or scheduled time on the weekend. Remember it is about you and you putting yourSELF on the list of your life.

Watch what you allow to distract you that could potentially cause you to lose opportunity and money. You Deserve A Peace of MIND!

What does internal peace mean for you?

Does it mean a place of sanctuary where you can come home from stressful situations and find that place of safety away from the ‘cares of the world’?

Does it mean a place where you can be yourself without the facade many of us wear throughout the day so that people won’t know how we really feel?

Or is this place (often our home) one more place where we need to defend ourselves from the ongoing onslaught of anger, hostility, and power games that are so often the measure of our lives in the 21st century?

The dictionary defines internal as having to do with or situated inside of the body, or relating to or existing within the mind.

Peace is defined as a state of calm and quiet; freedom from disturbing thoughts; and an agreement to end hostilities.

For the purpose of this article, I will combine these two notions and define internal peace as the integration of our thoughts and feelings culminating in a state of tranquility and harmony.

One of the most important keys for this tranquility and harmony, or ‘peace of mind’ as it is often called, is to honor our emotional nature and find methods to express our feelings in appropriate ways that allow us to release them.

Learning to deal with and release negative emotions is crucial to your mental health. Developing these skills takes time and practice, so today’s email will be the first of a 2 part series…

Practical Steps to Releasing Emotions

1. Learn to listen to yourself.
Many of us have been harried for so long that we are out-of-touch with how we feel. A situation will present itself and we will ‘flip out’ and find it unbelievable that we have lost control. This actually results from a build-up of emotions that we have not been aware of.

2. Accept responsibility for your feelings.
No one makes you feel anything; rather you choose how you think and feel based on what you interpret the situation to be. Blaming others gives away your power and when you feel like a ‘victim’ you react with anger and resentment.

3. Find a ‘safe place’.
Look for relationships and places where you can express your feelings without the fear of judgement. Talk to a trusted friend or counselor and release the emotion.

4. Accept yourself.
You are not supposed to be perfect. Learning to accept yourself with all your strengths and weaknesses creates feelings of peace within. It IS about you

5. Don’t judge yourself.
Judging yourself means thinking you have to be perfect and creates feelings of not being ‘good enough.’ When you feel inadequate, you judge yourself harshly. No matter what you do, it will never be ‘good enough.’

Take the time to include these habits into your daily routine. Remember you are worth it! #iCheer4you #POMPOM

If you’ve placed second in a race, will you jump for joy and push for better results the next time, or will you be discouraged and find an excuse not to run again? 

In life, you are always filled with choices. You may opt to have a pessimist’s view and live a self-defeated life, or you may decide to take the optimist’s route and take a challenging and fulfilling life.

So why nurture an optimist’s point of view? 

Well, optimism has been linked to positive mood and good morale; to academic, athletic, military, occupational, and political success; to popularity; to good health and even to long life and freedom from trauma.


Be Optimists and expect the best.

The truth is optimists are confronted with the same hard knocks of this world. What differs is the way they explain their misfortune—it’s the opposite way. They tend to believe defeat is just a temporary setback, that its causes are confined to this one case. 

Optimists tend to focus on and plan for the ‘problem’ at hand. They use ‘positive reinterpretation.’ In other words, they most likely reinterpret a negative experience in a way that helps them learn and grow.

So, don’t be fazed by a bad situation; began to see it as a challenge and try harder. Choose to optimistic today? And think positively towards a more fulfilled life.

Look forward to success in all your endeavors? Be resilient!  Everybody at some point in life is bound to hit lows but don’t just stay there. Get back up, put yourself back on top of the list.  Why? inspire others to move to action and see life on the bright side?

Don’t Be FOOLED!

Welcome to the second quarter. In the past three months so much has happened We now have a new President of the USA, Elon Musk is reported to currently be the richest man in the world, celebrities are separating, and vaccinations for coronavirus are now being administered in parts of the world. What does that have to do with you? I’m GLAD you asked…

In looking at some of the things that have happened in and around the world I want to know,

Remember Self First is about you… You have made it through the first quarter and we just completed March madness. However, I prefer to call it March GLADness, and here way: We can CHOOSE to see or find reasons to complain, find fault, or even stay on the “Pity Party” bus, or we can CHOOSE to celebrate the things that went well.  
Take a moment to consider what were you GRATEFUL for?
 Did you show yourself a little more LOVE?
 Are you now paying more ATTENTION to the main thing or the things that could have potentially distracted you?
It is my prayer that this note finds you doing well and I hope as you move into this second quarter you position yourself to be found DOING, doing something to move you closer to your dreams goals, and desires

Stop Procrastinating, set goals, get out and live…

Know your POWER and start using it NOW

Procrastination is the biggest thief of time. And since life is measured by time, it is in fact the biggest thief of life.

Think about this story: a man kept on putting off buying shares from a particular local company. He kept saying ‘I don’t know enough about the company to invest in shares’ or ‘I will go down to the stock exchange and buy some shares tomorrow.’ He kept procrastinating until shares were no longer available to be sold. Years later, that company was worth millions and some of those that had bought shares from the company came into a great amount of money.

Now think about that man’s regrets, think about the blow to his self-esteem and possibly, the opportunity to live a comfortable life that he missed.

You don’t want to be at the place where you look back at your life and realize you have accomplished nothing.

This is the pain of procrastination.

One of the greatest enemies to your SELF-FIRST journey is procrastination. Whatever you have decided to do, do it as soon as possible, do it NOW. Do you know why? You lose your drive and passion for new decisions the longer you procrastinate. You tend to feel guilty and depressed whenever you compromise on your decisions. These feelings will affect your motivation to stick with your decisions.

As you have made up your mind to put yourself first, remember the power of putting you First.

Keep you on the list and enjoy life a little bit more.

If you have some goals to achieve as a team member or team leader, you must just GET it done! Once you have set your goals, give yourself the chance of the great success your desire. In this article, we are going to share with you 4 How To’s that can help you take the steps to reach your goals. Without further ado, let us check out the 4 points.

1. Set high aims but start slow

In the early days, setting big goals can be a daunting task. To make things easier, you should break your big goals down into small goals that are more achievable. It’s like running for 15 minutes daily and go from there to prepare for marathon. This will allow you to develop your momentum and confidence with time.

As far as setting your goals is concerned, setting small, more achievable goals is the way to go. It will lessen the burden on your mind and keep on the track.

2. Set your goals yourself

If you let others set or modify the goals for you, it may reduce your ability and slow you down. Since it will be someone else’s goals, you will not enjoy the sense of commitment or ownership to the goals.

You are aware of your abilities and capacity, but not of others. Therefore, they may set goals that may be a bit too difficult for you to achieve. With the lack of belief, you may give up too soon. So, you can get help from others but do not allow them to choose the goals for you.

3. Visualize the success

If you have no idea what success looks like, you may not be able to keep moving with confidence. So, your goals must be clear, which is possible only if you implement the right plan. With clear goals, you can put together a clear plan and increase your chances of success.

4. Monitor Your Performance

The adage says what gets measured gets done. If you set small, achievable goals, you are in a better position to achieve them. If you are a team leader, make sure you track your performance and share the results with your team.

If the going gets tough, you may feel better if you can see the progress you have made. At times, when you are running to hit the finish line and know how close you are, it can give you the push you need to get over the finishing line.

If you want to set a big goal and increase your likelihood of success, you must have a clear idea of what success looks like. Plus, you must track your performance give yourself a tap on your back for each small success you achieve during the journey. This will considerably increase your chances of success.

In short, these are the 4 how to’s about you that will help you set your goals, track your progress while you achieve those small goals. This way you can keep moving and get closer to your final goals. Hope this helps. Remember #itisaboutyou

Five tips to live a more positive life!

Here are some tips to make it through the week even if you’re just sitting in your favorite couch. An idea takes time to form in your head and is always at work while you are busy sitting.

Having a bit of positive thinking can help you realize things that are never thought possible. Thinking big is indeed the American Way and that what makes us and made our country great and prosperous.

  1. Take passionate action towards living your life by design. #Notbydefault Talk is cheap. Action = deposits in the bank of a positive authentic future. Without it, passion for life is void.

This is a perfect example where dreams are made of where you start to image the things that are possible and choose to see in your mind, before they ever make it to your hands. Then you can grab a physical hold with your hands. Remember to write the vision and make it start writing out your thoughts. “Thoughts become Things” so be care of what you put your mind to.

  1. Commit to yourself as well as those you love to create powerfully a life you can love. Instead of reacting, commit to creating from your heart and soul, out of love rather than fear. Keep your dream in mind… but just know a dream will still be a dream without motion. Be amazed as the transformation begins. #itisaboutyou
  2. Recognize and embrace the thought that each moment is perfect regardless of its outcome. Every time you hit on something that may appear too extreme, why not give it a shot and see if it will work. You will be surprised to see of there are other ways to get the task done in time. If you are not pleased with the outcome, decide to use that moment to learn from and make the appropriate shift.
  3. Dwell and find your sweet spot completely in a place of gratitude. Learn to utilize what you have in your hands and make use of it in the most constructive way. Slipping into neediness will become less of a habit when you repeatedly shift towards gratitude, away from poverty consciousness.
  4. Keep humor at the forefront of thought, laughing at and with yourself when possible. You may find yourself quite entertaining when you loosen up! Life has so much to offer to allow you to mope around in self pity. Humor is very attractive, very passionate: life-giving.
  5. Believe that you are the architect of your destiny and the co-creator of your life No one can take your abundant future from you except for you! Create your life authentically. As long as there’s still breath in your body, there is no end to how much you can accomplish in a lifetime. The concept of thinking big is all about enjoying your world so work it, which will lead you to celebrate new levels of self discovery waiting for you. Allow things to flow and with greater self awareness watch everything began to take form as it should be.

So instead of subjecting yourself to what you will be doomed for, make your path by taking the first step with a positive attitude. Remember YOU get to CHOOSE.
